Beauty is in th eye of the beholder. Its subjective nature makes it limitless. To some beauty is the symmetry found in nature's quiet geometry or an architect's calculated construction, while others value less cultivated forms like the humble warmth of a smile, or the familiar angles of a friend's face.

This photo essay is an experiment--an attempt to unearth the nature of this transient and subjective concept. Rather than suggesting what beauty is (my usual role as a photographer) I've sought the suggestions of others. I chose random individuals, gave them each a disposable camera and asked them to bring me beauty.

The subjects were challenged to capture the intangible. The results were unexpected and diverse. They came to the subjects instinctively in a wave of appreciation and rediscovery of the everyday beauty so often overlooked.
